Genuine question for the men here.

If you approach a woman you’ve never met on the street and you find her attractive (she isn’t dressed for attention she’s just a pretty girl), what are you usually hoping for? Is it more of a casual/short-term thing, or are you genuinely open to something long term if she seems like the right person?

The reason I’m asking is because I had a guy approach me on a busy street after we made eye contact for literally a split second. He came over almost immediately, told me I was beautiful, and we exchanged contact info.

After that, though, the conversation was really surface level. He barely asked me any questions or tried to get to know me everything was surface level and I was shocked as to why even approach me with all that enthusiasm?, and after a while he removed me.

I’ve since noticed he seems to follow new women, message them briefly, then remove them too, repeating the same pattern.

I’m just curious what this behaviour usually means. Is it validation? Boredom? Looking for something casual? Or is there another explanation?

I’d be interested to hear from men who’ve done this themselves or know people who have.
